Standing on the Shoulders of Giants II

A collaboration between Louise te Poele, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and Saatchi Gallery

On display at the Saatchi Gallery is exhibition Standing on the Shoulders of Giants II curated by Louise te Poele in a collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum and Saatchi Gallery.
The exhibition showcases the work of ten contemporary Dutch female artists who have created art in response to works by women artists from the Victoria & Albert Museum's Collection.
The body of work exhibited follows Standing on the Shoulder of Giants I, continuing to explore and question the invisibility of female artists within spaces and creative institutions. By commissioning these new exhibited artworks, gender imbalances are challenged, bringing forth the visibility of female Dutch artists in the History of Art and Contemporary Art Scene.
Artists exhibited at the Saatchi include Lily de Bont, Margriet van Breevoort, Bobbi Essers, Larissa Esvelt, Anya Janssen, Audrey Large, Femmy Otten, Louise te Poele and Bregje Slipenbeek.
The work is striking, bold, commanding, creating a connection, a conversation between contemporary Dutch female artists and women artists from the collection of the V&A.
